A

ADAR Review offers three basic forms of payment: Credit card, Check, or Money Order.

  • Credit Card payments are implemented through Paypal, a recognized leader in eCommerce and online payment solutions. Financial information provided by the subscriber to Paypal is never shared with ADAR Review.

    Technical FAQ's
Q
I logged in successfully, but I don't see my account's page. What happened?
A
When you log into the ADARReview.com web site, the browser should open a new window in which you can access study notes content, testing features and other subscriber content.
If this window does not open, it is probably because your browser settings are not allowing this to happen.

You will need to make sure that a pop-up blocker is not preventing this new window from opening. Usually, you will see a bar (in Windows Explorer) below the address bar that will ask you if you want to allow a pop-up from this web site. Select the option: Always allow pop-ups from this web site. If you continue having problems, please contact us by email or phone.

Q
Why did I get automatically logged out?
A

The automatic logout feature ensures the safety of the ADARReview.com website and also ensures that you are not unwittingly timed out from exams.
The automatic log-out takes place in the event of any of these three conditions:

(1) A user logs on to ADARReview.com using your user id and password while you are logged into the system. Because the same user cannot be connected to the web site from two different computers simultaneously, one of the users will be logged out.

(2) A user has remained inactive for more than the time selected for automatic logout. The automatic log-out timing can be selected by the user in the Account Settings area. For example, you can select that ADARReview.com log you out if there has been no activity for 30 minutes.

(3) A user has remained inactive for more than 20 minutes during either a Diagnostic or Mock Exam. Because our exams are timed, we want to avoid a situation where you leave your desk during an exam only to realize that the three hours allocated for the exam have ended. This automatic log-out feature ensures that you can resume the exam when you come back to your desk and logged back onto ADARReview.com.

Q
I noticed that one of my public notes was deleted. Why did that happen?
A
ADARReview reserves the right to review all public notes. If any of them are believed to breach the Terms and Conditions or are otherwise considered inappropriate by the staff of ADARReview, the note can be deleted.
If you believe that your note was deleted in error, contact us by email.

Q
  Why can't I print anything I want?
A
We have blocked access to some print and copy features within the web site. Note that ADAR Review offers text books with all of the study sessions and many practice questions. We recommend purchasing these books for off line study. We also offer these books at a substantial discount to subscribers to any of our online programs.

Q
  Why can't I erase a public note I created?
A

Public notes, once created, belong to the public domain. They serve to raise issues for and educate the user community as a whole.

Being part of the public domain, these notes may reflect exchanges among users that go beyond the response to the question posted originally.

It is in the best interest of the user community to keep those discussions available. Preventing the removal of the complete stream of postings, or even of portions of it, ensures that users will be able to benefit from these exchanges, when needed.

Q
How can I change the font size?
A

  • If your mouse has a rotating wheel, it is possible to change the font size by holding down the Ctrl Key and simultaneously rotating the wheel.
  • If your mouse doesn't have a rotating wheel, use a web browser window to change the font size, using the View option in the pulldown menu, followed by the and Text Size option.

Q
Printouts are getting cropped. What can I do?
A

The page margins in your browser can be adjusted.
If you are using:

  • Internet Explorer:
    • Open a new window.
From the browser pulldown menu, select the options File -> Page Setup.
Set the Left and Right margins to 0.25 inches, and the Top and Bottom margins to 0.17 inches.
      Click OK.

  • Mozilla Firefox:
    • Open a new window.
From the browser pulldown menu, select the option File -> Page Setup.
Select the Margins & Header/Footer tab.
Set the Left and Right margins to 0.25 inches, and the Top and Bottom margins to 0.17 inches.
      Click OK.

    Content FAQ's
Q
Why can't I take multiple times an exam or practice question set?
A
Practice question sets and exams are meant to be taken only once.

Allowing users to take the same exam multiple times may provide a false sense of confidence, in which higher scores are obtained not as a consequence of having mastered the concepts being tested, but simply because of you remembering the old questions. This is a major difference (and we believe an advantage) between ADAR Review and other exam preparation providers.

ADARReview.com provides multiple practice questions sets for each Study Session, and a novel answering method that allows users to effectively identify, after completion of each test, which areas require review.

Q
Can I use bookmarks to make my study more efficient?
A

Below the content displayed for each LOS, there's a button allowing the user to bookmark (or remove the bookmark from) that particular LOS.

Once the user is logged in, in the left navigation bar there is an option (Bookmarks) that will bring the user's list of all bookmarks, organized by Study Session and Reading assignment.

Bookmarking allows subscribers to review at a later date LOSs that are particularly challenging or important.
Bookmarks provide a fast and efficient way to access these important LOSs.

From the bookmark area of the site, it's possible not only to access any bookmarked LOS, but also its corresponding Reading Assignment and Study Session.

Q
Should I really buy the books? What's the expected benefit?
A
The books provide you a convenient way to study and review the material offline. Therefore, they are an important tool in preparing for the exam.
ADAR Review encourages you to buy the study note textbooks and offers a significant discount to online subscribers.

Q
Why should I use Private Notes?
A

ADAR Review allows subscribers to write personal notes below each LOS. This allows you to record your own observations on points that may be of interest, present difficulty, require review, etc.

These notes can be defined by the user as private in nature, and therefore are not shared with the rest of the user community.

Just as it's possible to quickly navigate through specific LOS's using the bookmarks, it's also possible to access LOS's through the notes that have been written on them.

To do this, once the user is logged in, in the left navigation bar there is an option (Personal Notes) that will bring the user list of all Personal and Public notes available, clearly organized, so that an effective review of LOS's can take place.

From the Personal Notes view, it is possible not only to access the LOS on which notes have been written, but also the corresponding Reading Assignment and Study Session.

Q
Is it true that the 2009 CFA Level I exam will have 3 answer choices for each question, rather than 4?
A

Yes, it is. The CFA Institute states that one of the four alternatives was usually quickly identified as wrong by candidates in the CFA Exam.  Thus, they decided to eliminate one of the options. For practice purposes, we still provide 4 alternatives in our practice exams (just as the CFA Institute provides four alternatives in its sample questions).  We believe that having four options makes our questions slightly more difficult than what you would encounter in the actual CFA exam.  This should make you better prepared when taking the exam.

Read more at the CFA Institute web site.
